Help for Health Center

Ensuring basic medical care for one year

Location: Ban Na, Laos
Local project partner: direct help

As part of the visit to the Ban Na Primary School, Tarek Mamisch subsequently visited the nearby Ban Na health station. This small medical facility is responsible not only for the entire village but also for the surrounding communities and often represents the only medical point of contact for the local population.

A particular focus of the health station is on maternity care as well as medical treatment for infants and children. At the same time, adults and elderly people from the village and the surrounding region are also treated here.

On site, it became clear that the health station had completely run out of medicines. Adequate medical care was therefore no longer ensured. In order to provide fast and unbureaucratic support, all urgently needed medicines were immediately procured to cover the medical care of patients for an entire year.

The medicines were purchased from a large wholesale pharmacy and subsequently provided to the health station. The total cost of this measure amounted to 2,675 US-Dollars.

Through this project, basic medical care for Ban Na and the surrounding villages could be sustainably secured. It once again demonstrates how important flexible and direct assistance is in order to respond to acute emergencies and, in particular, to ensure the care of mothers and children.

Amount of funding in 2026: 2,675 US-Dollars
