Help for syrian families
Support for widowed mothers and their children
Location: Harim, Syria
Local project partner: Spendahilfe e. V.
Following the establishment of our tent camp in Harim in February 2023, most of the affected families were able to return to relatives at the end of April 2024. However, five widowed mothers and their 28 children had no possibility of returning and continued to rely on the camp as a secure refuge.
These families lost everything due to the earthquake and ongoing conflicts, facing the challenge of coping with everyday life in an unstable environment. In order to ensure the care of these mothers and their children, we provided continuous support through monthly funding of 1,500 euros. This made it possible to supply basic food and other essential resources, helping to stabilize daily life in the difficult conditions of the camp.
In addition, we worked to ensure that the children were able to attend school regularly despite the difficult circumstances.
Due to the ongoing instability and recent unrest in the region, the families were forced to leave the camp and were relocated to Aleppo. There, they continue to receive support from our local partner Spendenhilfe e.V. to help them navigate this new and challenging phase of their lives.
