Vern Khane Primary School
Construction of a New School Building with Five Classrooms
Location: Mounlapamok District, Champasak Province, Laos
Project Partner: Child’s Dream Association
In the small village of Vern Khane, 269 children currently attend the local primary school. The old wooden building, constructed in 2004, had become severely damaged after more than 20 years of use and posed a safety risk for students and teachers. Together with the Child’s Dream Association, the Tarek Mamisch Foundation is funding the construction of a new school building with five classrooms and four new toilet facilities to provide the children with a safe and child-friendly learning environment once again.
The project is implemented by the experienced NGO Child’s Dream Association, which has been successfully carrying out educational projects across Southeast Asia for many years. The organization is responsible for planning, construction management, quality control and post-completion monitoring. The local community is actively involved in the building process to foster a sense of ownership and long-term responsibility for the school.
