Covering the school fees of two students at ACE

Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Local project partner: direct help

During one of his trips to Cambodia, Tarek Mamisch met the local tuk-tuk driver Leo in Siem Reap, who is the father of two daughters. Through their conversations, it quickly became clear how important the future of his children is to him and how deeply he wishes to provide them with a good education. However, the family’s financial means are not sufficient to cover the tuition fees at the Australian Centre for Education (ACE) in Siem Reap.

ACE is considered one of the country’s leading educational institutions. Graduating from ACE opens up opportunities for higher education and better career prospects—possibilities that would otherwise remain out of reach for many children in Cambodia.

To make it possible for the two girls Livyi and Socheata to attend school, the Tarek Mamisch Foundation has decided to permanently cover their school fees. This enables both children to attend classes regularly and focus on their education without their family’s financial situation standing in the way.
