Mamisch Primary School

Completion of a primary school construction

Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Local project partner: Vision Cambodia

During one of our journeys through Asia, we met Chantha, our tour guide in Siem Reap, whose dedication to his community deeply inspired us. Through him, we learned of a pressing educational project in Svay Leu District: the construction of a primary school for fifty children, which had begun but had stalled at forty percent completion due to a lack of funds. Without further financing, the project and the future of these children were at risk.

In partnership with Chantha, we committed to funding the remaining sixty percent of the construction to see the school completed. This school is a critical resource for the region, providing children with access to education and a pathway to brighter futures.

Following the completion of the construction, the “Mamisch Primary School” has now begun operating. Since autumn 2025, the building has been used as a preschool, currently attended by 22 children each day. Additional programs, such as afternoon English lessons for children from the surrounding area, are in preparation and will be introduced gradually.

To support a stable school routine, we also provide school uniforms and basic materials for the preschool children. Looking ahead, we plan to offer one warm meal per day to ensure that all children are cared for during their time at school.

Together with Chantha and our local partner “Vision Cambodia,” we continue to accompany the school and support its long-term development.

Amount of funding in 2024: 12,060 US-Dollars
Amount of funding in 2025: 9,709 US-Dollars
Estimated amount of funding in 2026: 9,000 US-Dollars
