March 06, 2026 Opening Ceremony of the Vern Khane Primary School
On March 6, 2026, the newly constructed Vern Khane Primary School in Mounlapamok District, Champasak Province in Laos, was officially inaugurated. After several months of construction, the school building was formally handed over to the local community and the students.
The Tarek Mamisch Foundation funded the construction of a new school building with five fully equipped classrooms and four toilet facilities, providing a safe and child-friendly learning environment for the children of Vern Khane. In total, 269 students benefit from the improved infrastructure.
Tarek Mamisch attended the opening ceremony in person and joined representatives of the local community, the school and our project partner Child’s Dream Association for the celebration. The event included traditional ceremonies, speeches and joyful moments shared with the students.
We would like to thank our partner Child’s Dream Association, the local community and everyone involved in bringing this project to life. Together, we have created a place that will provide children with access to education and new opportunities for the future.
